I've reviewed the existing posts about these adapters on the subreddit and it's clear they can be a pain to remove when soldered on. First, see if removing that fitting on the end will allow the new tub spout to slip over it. Look underneath for a set screw. If not, will move on to another option. If it is in fact screwed on, use a pipe wrench or channel lock to unscrew it.
I want to remove the brass delta adapter to put a delta slip on tub spout with a plastic insert with o-ring and set screw. I do not want to just get a different spout that fits this adapter. After 15 emails with Delta, they still wouldn’t give me a list of spouts that use this adapter and I want to use the one that came with the trim INo set screw on the brass adapter.
